The members of the Butter Quartet first formed as participants in a course at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, but soon developed a passion and dynamic that extended beyond their studies.
This young quartet, based in The Netherlands, plays on historical instruments. They have been featured in festivals and series internationally, such as at the National Forum for Music in Poland. They have also appeared on BBC Radio 3 and Dutch station Radio West

The New York based and 2022 winners of the Banff International String Quartet competition, cultivate joyful, accessible, and intimate experiences in music, that create community through in-depth relationships and the power of the collective to uplift the individual.
The gloriously vital tradition of the string quartet is their playground to impact the world we live in and inspire others through the art of professional music and play.

Bernard Blary ~ flute
Eric Hominick ~ piano
Bernard Blary regularly performs with chamber ensembles in the Vancouver area As a soloist, Bernard has been featured with orchestra groups in the United States Canada, Europe and South America.
Eric Hominick was born in Nova Scotia, studied piano at the Toronto Conservatory, and piano and voice at Dalhousie University. In 1983 he moved to Vancouver to join the music faculty at Vancouver Community College and a continuing professional singing career with the Vancouver Chamber Choir. At present he is also on the faculty at TOOBA Physical Theatre Centre and accompanist for the choirs of the British Columbia Girls Choir.
Admission is by donation.
